The information about jazz in Azerbaijan was given to me by the Brussels based saxophone player Joe Higham. He made a visit there by invitation in late October 1997 to play with local groups and musicians.

Jazz Club is located in the heart of Baku, across the street from the Boulevard and at the end of the Fountain Square This underground place offers you live jazz music with some of the best musicians of Azerbaijan. The food there is also really good and there is a nice bar. Live music starts after 8pm and every evening there's a different band playing. You're most likely to run into real jazz lovers who come there every night! The bill includes some small fee for the musicians but they are definitely worth 10 times more.]
