Queen of Bohemia is a label founded by Eldad Tarmu and his then fiancee Sorana in 2007, with the purpose of promoting creative acoustic music of all genres. Sorana is currently the manager of Queen of Bohemia Productions.
Sorana Tarmu grew up in an artistic family in NW Romania. Her parents were humanities teachers and active members of the local drama club, who encouraged and cultivated her artistic as well as scientific skills. She studied music privately during elementary school (guitar) and is a self-taught pianist and accordionist. Also, since the age of 6 she has been publishing poetry and book and music reviews in local and national press. In parallel with her academic studies in wildlife conservation, she developed a very extensive musical culture. In July 2006 she started a jazz blog with an online jazz radio show. After a few months she met her husband Eldad, (who was then a professor of jazz studies in Romania), and set the bases of their own music label. In June 2008, she graduated from the Community Art School in her town and moved to the US with her husband.
Sorana is currently studying sound engineering in New York.
